College textbooks don’t fit into your pocket money budget? Try CampusBooks, an innovative site that enables you to buy used books from other college students. CampusBooks brings together students who want to sell books and those who want to buy them. If your first semester books are done with and you want to dispose them off, you could actually sell them on CampusBooks.com to other students who want to buy them. This way you can make quick bucks and your book is getting re-used too.

CampusBooks was co-founded in 1998 by Kiran S. Kumar, a full time Project Manager working for a well known MNC and Rahul Pissay. The first thing that struck me was the navigation aspect of the site. It’s very simple and user friendly. The concept of site tour was really very helpful. I was able to understand what the site was all about, what requires to be done in just one glance at the site.
The process is very simple. You register yourself and post the books you want to sell on the site. If anyone is interested they will get back to you. If you want to buy a book then you just search for the books you want to buy. If it’s listed, you contact the seller, fix an appointment with him/her and get the book.
The site could be powered with certain basic aspects. Search book by categories, probably could be a good add on. Book forums, discussions, information about good books, new books are certain things, which could probably power up the site even more. The scope of the site could be extended over lot of things than to be a mere platform for sellers and buyers.
Simple concept, simple site but real great thought and work, CampusBooks is sure to rock. The site is initially targeted towards college students. Founder’s kindly note, even the books for the corporates, especially the IT industry are also very expensive, probably the services should be extended to them as well
Indian Software landscape is changing- the focus is shifting from services to products. The risk profile has increased dramatically over the last couple of years. People are ready to forsake corporate careers to feel the adrenalin rush of a start-up. Software landscape is ready to embrace innovation and the next big thing is ready to come out of India. We aim to report start-ups by Indian entrepreneurs in India & worldwide, innovations and probably be the first one to announce the next big thing from India.
